Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ji Xue Gan Pian is a pharmaceutical preparation derived from the total glucosides extracted from *Centella asiatica* (Gotu Kola). It is primarily utilized in dermatology and plastic surgery for the treatment of abnormal connective tissue proliferation, including hypertrophic scars, keloids, and systemic scleroderma. The drug functions by promoting wound healing and granulation tissue formation while simultaneously inhibiting the excessive proliferation of fibroblasts and the over-synthesis of collagen fibers. By regulating the balance of collagen production and degradation, it helps to soften existing scars and prevent the formation of new ones. It is also indicated for the management of chronic skin ulcers and wounds resulting from accidental trauma or surgery.
