Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jia Wei Sheng Yu Si Ni Tang (JWSYSNT) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by researchers at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for the management of intradialytic hypotension (IDH) in patients with end-stage renal disease. The formula is a modification of two classical TCM prescriptions: Sheng Yu Tang, which is traditionally used to tonify Qi and nourish blood, and Si Ni Tang, which is used to rescue devastated Yang and warm the center. By combining these elements, JWSYSNT is designed to address the complex constitutional patterns (Zheng) of deficiency and cold that contribute to hemodynamic instability during dialysis. It is administered as an oral powder and is currently being evaluated in Phase 2/3 clinical trials in Taiwan to assess its efficacy in reducing the frequency and severity of hypotensive episodes during hemodialysis.
