Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jia-Wei Si-Ni decoction is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula based on the classic Si Ni Tang. It is primarily developed for the treatment of ischemic stroke (ischemic apoplexy). The base formula, Si Ni Tang, typically consists of *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Fuzi), *Zingiber officinale* (Ganjiang), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Zhigancao), and is traditionally used to restore yang and improve circulation. The "Jia-Wei" (modified) version includes additional herbal components intended to enhance its neuroprotective and rehabilitative effects in the context of cerebral ischemia. A multi-center randomized controlled trial (ChiCTR1900023307) sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is evaluating its efficacy when combined with conventional Western medical treatments for ischemic stroke.
