Jiang Ju Nuan Wei Gao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the relief of gastric discomfort, abdominal pain, and indigestion caused by "stomach cold" (a TCM diagnostic pattern). The preparation typically centers on ginger (Zingiber officinale) and tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), which are processed into a thick oral paste or electuary. Pharmacologically, the active constituents such as gingerols and flavonoids exert gastroprotective, anti-emetic, and prokinetic effects by modulating vanilloid receptors and serotonin signaling in the gastrointestinal tract. It is widely used in China as an over-the-counter remedy for chronic gastritis and functional dyspepsia characterized by cold sensitivity.
