Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiangbai Weiyan Pian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tablet developed by Hangzhou Huadong Medicine Group Bioengineering Research Institute. It is classified as a Category 1.1 innovative Chinese medicine, a designation for new formulations with significant clinical value. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic non-atrophic gastritis, specifically targeting patients with the 'spleen and stomach damp-heat' syndrome according to TCM diagnostic criteria. The formulation is composed of herbal extracts, including *Dalbergia odorifera* (Jiangxiang) and *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai). Pharmacologically, it is designed to clear heat, resolve dampness, and alleviate pain. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to anti-inflammatory activity and the protection of the gastric mucosal barrier, which helps reduce symptoms such as epigastric pain, bloating, and acid reflux. As of recent clinical reports, the drug is in Phase 3 development in China.
