Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiangzhi Xiaopi Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily developed and studied for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). The formula is designed to address TCM patterns of spleen deficiency, phlegm-dampness, and blood stasis, which are commonly associated with metabolic syndrome. It typically contains a combination of herbs such as Crataegi Fructus (Shanzha), Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie), and Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix (Danshen). Pharmacological research indicates that the formula exerts its therapeutic effects by regulating lipid metabolism, improving insulin sensitivity, and reducing hepatic inflammation. Specifically, it has been shown to modulate the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway and potentially activate PPAR-alpha to enhance fatty acid oxidation in the liver.
