Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Huayu (JPHY) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine, specifically designed for the treatment of gastric cancer and gastric precancerous lesions (GPL). The formula is based on the TCM therapeutic principles of strengthening the spleen (Jianpi) and resolving blood stasis (Huayu). It typically comprises a complex mixture of herbal ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Baizhu), *Curcuma phaeocaulis* (Ezhu), and *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen). Mechanistically, Jianpi Huayu exerts anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the proliferation of gastric cancer cells, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing tumor-associated angiogenesis. Research suggests it modulates several key signaling pathways, including the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and VEGF pathways, and may also regulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines and hypoxia-inducible factors in the tumor microenvironment.
