Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Huayu Recipe (also known as Jianpi Huayu Decoction or JHD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of advanced cancers, including gastric cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma. Based on TCM principles of strengthening the spleen and resolving blood stasis, the recipe aims to counteract tumor-induced immunosuppression and hypercoagulability. Research indicates that JHD modulates the tumor microenvironment by inducing the maturation of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) into dendritic cells and macrophages, thereby reducing the proportion of regulatory T cells (Treg) and Th17 cells while increasing cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL). It also suppresses the expression of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) and reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels within MDSCs to restore immune function in the host.
