Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Jiedu (JPJD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Shuguang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily utilized as an adjuvant therapy for patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) to prevent post-operative recurrence and metastasis. The formula is designed according to TCM principles to strengthen the spleen (Jianpi) and clear toxins (Jiedu). Clinical and preclinical studies suggest that JPJD can enhance the efficacy of standard chemotherapy (such as 5-fluorouracil-based regimens), reduce treatment-related toxicity, and inhibit tumor progression by modulating the immune microenvironment, regulating gut microbiota, and suppressing signaling pathways involved in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
