Jianpi Shengshui Gao

Jianpi Shengshui Gao (JPSSG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal paste formulation primarily used to treat cancer-related fatigue (CRF). It is a multi-component botanical modality containing approximately 87 identified bioactive compounds that target skeletal muscle health. Its mechanism of action involves the activation of the AMPK-SIRT1 and HIF-1 signaling pathways, which helps alleviate skeletal myoblast cell apoptosis, reduce oxidative stress, and improve mitochondrial dysfunction. Clinical and preclinical studies have explored its efficacy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) following chemotherapy to improve fatigue and immune function. It is typically prepared as a concentrated semi-solid paste for oral administration.
