Overview
Jianpi Shengxue tablets (also known as Jianpi Shengxue Pian) are a Chinese patent medicine and a compound preparation combining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. Developed and manufactured by Jianmin Group, the formulation is primarily used to treat various forms of anemia, including iron deficiency anemia and renal anemia. The Western medicine components include ferrous sulfate and vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which directly supply iron and enhance its absorption. The TCM components consist of blood-enriching and spleen-strengthening herbs, including *Codonopsis pilosula*, *Poria cocos*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, licorice, astragalus, and chicken gizzard lining (gallinacean). Clinical studies have demonstrated that Jianpi Shengxue tablets improve red blood cell parameters, iron metabolism, and nutritional markers, while also regulating hepcidin-related pathways and reducing serum levels of bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6) and nitric oxide (NO).
