Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Yiqi Bugan Yishen Decoction (JYBYD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed for the treatment of myasthenia gravis (MG), particularly in pediatric patients. MG is an acquired autoimmune disease of the neuromuscular junction, and JYBYD is designed to provide a therapeutic alternative to conventional immunosuppressive agents that can negatively impact the growth and development of children. The decoction's mechanism of action involves modulating peripheral blood immune cell profiles and reducing acetylcholine receptor antibody (AChR-Ab) titers. Network pharmacological analysis has identified quercetin, luteolin, and resveratrol as key active ingredients within the formulation. Experimental studies in rat models have demonstrated that JYBYD treatment leads to the downregulation of STAT1, MCL1, and c-FOS protein expression in muscle tissues, which is associated with the recovery of neuromuscular junction lesions.
