Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Yiqi Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed and studied by The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine. Based on the TCM therapeutic principle of "strengthening the spleen and replenishing Qi," the decoction is primarily investigated as an adjunctive therapy for patients with HIV/AIDS. Clinical research, including a 48-week interventional study (ChiCTR1800018304), has focused on its ability to modulate immune function by affecting CD4+ T cell subgroups. The formulation is intended to support immune reconstitution and improve clinical outcomes in HIV-infected individuals by addressing the underlying "Qi deficiency" often associated with chronic viral infection in TCM theory.
