Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpi Yiwei Formula (JPYW) is a multi-component traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is primarily used to alleviate chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, anorexia, bloating, and fatigue, particularly in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The formula contains extracts from *Codonopsis pilosula* and *Atractylodes macrocephala*, with key active constituents including quercetin, naringenin, and luteolin. JPYW exerts anti-inflammatory and prokinetic effects by regulating gastrointestinal functions and targeting biological pathways involving AKT1, TP53, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF). It has been evaluated in clinical trials as an adjuvant therapy to standard antiemetic regimens to improve non-vomiting gastrointestinal symptoms.
