Overview
Jianpi Ziyin is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Beijing Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is specifically indicated for patients in the stable phase of COPD who exhibit the TCM syndromes of spleen-lung qi deficiency and yin deficiency. The formula is designed to strengthen the spleen and nourish yin, which in TCM theory helps to improve respiratory function and systemic health. Clinically, it is used to enhance lung function (FEV1), improve exercise tolerance, and reduce the frequency of acute exacerbations. Its pharmacological effects include the modulation of systemic inflammation, reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and improvement of the patient's nutritional and immunological status.
