JianpiQingwei recipe (JPQW) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed and evaluated by the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. It is formulated to address the TCM syndrome of spleen deficiency with stomach heat. JPQW is primarily investigated for its potential to improve glycemic control, lipid metabolism, insulin resistance, and gut microbiota composition in overweight or obese adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and insulin resistance.
