Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jianpishengxue is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, typically available as a tablet or granule, developed by Wuhan Jianmin Pharmaceutical Groups. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and renal anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The product is a combination of the iron supplement ferrous fumarate and several TCM herbal extracts, including *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Codonopsis pilosula*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, *Poria cocos*, and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*. The therapeutic rationale involves providing direct iron for hemoglobin synthesis while utilizing herbal components to invigorate the spleen, which is intended to improve gastrointestinal tolerance and enhance the absorption of iron. It is widely used in China across various populations, including children, pregnant women, and patients with renal impairment.
