Overview
Jianxin Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Rugao Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN) in patients with type 2 diabetes. The therapeutic mechanism involves the upregulation of the Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/Antioxidant Response Element (ARE) signaling pathway. By activating this pathway, the drug aims to improve endogenous antioxidant defenses and mitigate oxidative stress-induced damage to the autonomic nervous system in diabetic patients. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy and safety in this patient population.
