Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Buzhong Yiqi Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the classic prescription "Buzhong Yiqi Tang" with additional herbs ("jiawei" means "modified with added ingredients"). The granule form is designed for oral administration and convenience. Its main function is to tonify the middle burner (spleen and stomach), boost qi (vital energy), elevate yang, and address symptoms of spleen qi deficiency and sinking of middle qi. It is commonly used for conditions such as chronic fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension, chronic diarrhea, rectal or uterine prolapse, irregular menstruation due to qi deficiency or blood deficiency/imbalance, and general weakness after illness or surgery. The mechanism involves multi-herb synergy to enhance gastrointestinal motility/function and improve systemic energy levels through immunomodulatory effects[2][5][6]. Typical ingredients include ginseng (or codonopsis), astragalus root (huangqi), angelica sinensis (danggui), atractylodes macrocephala (baizhu), licorice root (gancao), bupleurum root (chaihu), citrus peel or tangerine peel (chenpi/juhong), cimicifuga rhizome (shengma), among others[2].
