Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Chenshi Tangshen Fang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the nephrology team at Longhua Hospital, based on the clinical experience of Professor Chen Yiping. It is designed for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), particularly in patients with early to mid-stage DKD (G1-3aA1-3) complicated by dyslipidemia. The formula aims to tonify the kidney and qi, support healthy energy, dispel pathogenic factors, clear heat and dampness, and harmonize the body's three burners. Its mechanism involves multi-target modulation including anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidation, improvement of lipid metabolism, reduction of proteinuria, and protection against renal function decline. The formula typically contains herbs such as Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), Radix Codonopsis (Taizishen), Angelica sinensis (Danggui), Rehmannia glutinosa (Shengdi), Cornus officinalis (Shanzhuyu), Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen), Coix seed (Yiyiren), Pheretima aspergillum (Dilong), Poria cocos (Fuling), Alisma orientale rhizome (Zexie). Clinical studies have shown it can reduce proteinuria rates and slow DKD progression while improving glucose and lipid metabolism[2][5].
