Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Fuzheng Jiedu Huayu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed for the treatment of pneumonia caused by drug-resistant *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*. The formula is based on the TCM therapeutic principles of 'Fuzheng' (strengthening the body's resistance), 'Jiedu' (detoxification), and 'Huayu' (resolving blood stasis). It functions as an adjunctive or standalone therapy to modulate the host immune response, reduce systemic and local inflammation, and potentially inhibit bacterial virulence. Clinical and preclinical studies suggest that it may act by regulating inflammatory signaling pathways, such as the TLR4/NF-κB pathway, thereby mitigating lung tissue damage and improving clinical outcomes in patients with refractory respiratory infections.
