Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Gualou Xiebai Guizhi Decoction is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula based on the classic Gualou Xiebai Guizhi Tang described in the *Jin Gui Yao Lue*. Developed and studied by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Shenzhen Hospital, this decoction is specifically investigated for the treatment of coronary slow flow (CSF). The formula typically consists of *Trichosanthes kirilowii* (Gualou), *Allium macrostemon* (Xiebai), and *Cinnamomum cassia* (Guizhi), with additional herbs (Jiawei) tailored to address specific patterns of phlegm-stasis and yang deficiency. It is hypothesized to improve coronary microcirculation, increase blood flow velocity, and reduce inflammatory markers. In clinical trials, it is often evaluated in combination with enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) to assess its efficacy in improving myocardial perfusion and clinical symptoms in patients with CSF.
