Jiawei Guizhi Jia Longgu Muli Decoction is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula based on the classic Guizhi Jia Longgu Muli Decoction (Cinnamon Twig plus Dragon Bone and Oyster Shell Decoction). It is being developed as an adjunctive therapy for cancer-related insomnia (CRI) in patients with malignant tumors. The formula is designed to harmonize the 'Ying' and 'Wei' systems, nourish the heart, and calm the spirit by anchoring the 'Yang' with mineral and shell components. In clinical practice, it is often administered as granules in combination with standard hypnotic medications to improve sleep quality and mitigate the side effects of conventional sedatives. The 'Jiawei' (modified) designation indicates the addition of specific herbs to the base formula to tailor the treatment for the complexities of cancer-related symptoms.
