Overview
Jiawei Liangge San is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula based on the classic Liangge San (Cool the Diaphragm Powder). It is being developed and evaluated by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an adjunctive treatment for sepsis, specifically for patients exhibiting the exuberant heat toxin pattern. The formula is designed to clear heat, detoxify, and purge fire, thereby modulating the systemic inflammatory response and reducing organ damage. In clinical studies, it is administered alongside standard sepsis therapy to assess its impact on 28-day mortality, Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores, and inflammatory biomarkers such as C-reactive protein and procalcitonin.
