Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Qian-Yang Dan is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula based on the classic Qian-Yang Dan, which originated from the Fire Spirit School (Huo Shen Pai) of TCM. The formula is primarily composed of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), Amomi Fructus (Sharen), Testudinis Carapax et Plastron (Guiban), and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), with additional herbs tailored for respiratory conditions. It is being developed and evaluated by the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an adjunctive treatment for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The therapeutic rationale involves warming the kidney yang and subduing floating yang to modulate the systemic inflammatory response and improve pulmonary outcomes in critically ill patients.
