Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Xinglou Chengqi Granule (JXCG) is a multi-component traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulation currently under investigation for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The preparation contains several key bioactive compounds, including beta-sitosterol, naringenin, diosmetin, kaempferol, and vestitol. JXCG exerts its neuroprotective effects through a multi-target mechanism, modulating the activity of proteins such as Caspase-3, STAT3, Albumin, GAPDH, and VEGFA, as well as various Protein Kinase C isoforms (PRKCE, PRKCH, and PRKCQ). Research conducted by the Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Southwest Medical University has demonstrated that JXCG treatment reduces cerebral infarct volume and mitigates neuronal damage in rat models of permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion.
