Overview
Jiawei Yanghe Decoction (JWYHD) is an optimized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the classical Yanghe Decoction (Yanghe Tang). It is traditionally used in clinical practice for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, asthma, and granulomatous disorders such as sarcoidosis and mastitis. Pharmacologically, JWYHD is categorized as a botanical drug combination that modulates the tumor immune microenvironment. Recent studies in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) suggest that JWYHD can enhance the efficacy of radiotherapy by upregulating the expression of chemokines CXCL9 and CXCL11. This upregulation promotes the recruitment and infiltration of CD8+ T cells into the tumor, thereby augmenting the anti-tumor immune response. The formula typically consists of the base Yanghe Decoction ingredients modified with additional herbs to enhance its therapeutic range.
