Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jidesheng Snake Medicine Tablets (also known as Ji Desheng Snake Medicine Tablets or Jidesheng Sheyao Pian) are a marketed, multi-herb traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation originally developed by the snakebite specialist Ji Desheng in Nantong, China. The formulation is manufactured and developed by Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group. It is traditionally used for the treatment of venomous snakebites and insect stings, acting to clear heat, detoxify, reduce swelling, and alleviate pain. The formula is a complex mixture of natural-product ingredients, including toad skin or dried toad secretion (*Succus Bufo* / Ganchan), *Euphorbia humifusa* (Dijincao), *Paris polyphylla* (Chonglou), and centipede (*Scolopendra* / Wugong). In October 2026, China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved a clinical trial to evaluate Jidesheng Snake Medicine Tablets for a new indication: herpes zoster (specifically liver-gallbladder damp-heat syndrome).
