Overview
Jie-du granule (also known as Jiedu granule or JDG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal compound formulation developed by the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Integrative Oncology) at Changhai Hospital (Second Military Medical University) in Shanghai, China. It is composed of four main herbal ingredients: Salvia chinensis Benth, Actinidia valvata, Cremastra appendiculata, and Gallus gallus domesticus (gizzard membrane) in a 1:1:0.4:0.4 ratio. Jie-du granule is primarily developed for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It has been evaluated in clinical trials and retrospective cohort studies, both as a monotherapy and in combination with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), gamma knife radiosurgery (GKR), or sorafenib, demonstrating potential to prolong overall survival and modulate gut microbiota in patients with advanced HCC.
