Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jie-du-qu-yu-zishen formula (also known as Jieduquyuziyin prescription) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by researchers at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis. Grounded in the TCM principles of clearing heat-toxins, resolving blood stasis, and nourishing Yin, the formula consists of ten traditional herbs, including Rehmannia glutinosa, Trionyx sinensis, Artemisia annua, Hedyotis diffusa, Paeonia veitchii, Centella asiatica, Paeonia suffruticosa, Citrus medica, Cimicifuga foetida, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Preclinical and clinical studies suggest that the formula exerts multi-target immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. Its mechanisms of action include inhibiting the IRAK1/NF-κB and Nek7/NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathways, modulating the BAFF/BAFF-R axis, restoring Th17/Treg cell balance, and upregulating glucocorticoid receptor alpha (GRα) expression to enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxicity of glucocorticoid therapy.
