Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiechangyan Qixiao Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Formulated to address the 'damp-heat in the large intestine' syndrome, the preparation consists of a proprietary blend of herbs intended to clear heat, resolve dampness, promote blood circulation, and alleviate pain. Clinical studies conducted at the developing institution indicate that the granules effectively reduce clinical symptoms, promote intestinal mucosal healing, and modulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-8. As a hospital-made preparation, its regulatory status is governed by provincial authorities in China, allowing for its use within the prescribing hospital system.
