Jiedu Huayu

Jiedu Huayu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula, often prepared as granules, primarily utilized for the treatment of liver injury and liver failure, including acute liver failure (ALF) and chronic liver failure (CLF). Its therapeutic efficacy is attributed to its ability to modulate the immune system and inflammatory responses. Specifically, Jiedu Huayu has been shown to inhibit T-cell mediated immunity by reducing the expression of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) related factors such as perforin, granule B, and PD-1. It also decreases hepatic apoptotic factors like OX62, FAS, and TNFR1, thereby mitigating hepatocyte apoptosis. Furthermore, it influences the balance of various cytokines, increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10 and IL-13, while decreasing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IFN-γ, IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α. The drug also regulates the NF-κB signaling pathway and modulates IL-2 and TLR4 expression, contributing to its anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective effects, and promoting hepatocyte regeneration.
