Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiedu Huoxue Fang (Jiedu Huoxue decoction, JDHXD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula composed of ten herbs, developed by Professor Wenqiu Yu for treating chronic prostatitis, specifically chronic nonbacterial prostatitis (also known as chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome). As a multi-component herbal therapy, its mechanism of action involves inhibiting inflammatory signaling pathways such as NF-κB and TGF-β/SMAD. [9, 11] This leads to the modulation of inflammatory cytokines including IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α, and the regulation of microRNAs in prostate tissue. Clinical and preclinical studies have demonstrated its potential in treating type IIIa prostatitis by reducing inflammation. [11]
