Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiedu Shengji Ointment is a specialized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical formulation developed by the Jiangsu Province Hospital on Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the management of hand-foot skin reaction (HFSR), a common dermatological toxicity associated with multi-kinase inhibitors such as sorafenib and apatinib, as well as chemotherapy agents like capecitabine. The ointment is formulated based on TCM principles to clear heat, detoxify, and promote tissue regeneration (Shengji). Pharmacologically, it is believed to alleviate symptoms such as erythema, dysesthesia, and skin fissures by exerting anti-inflammatory effects, improving local microcirculation, and supporting skin barrier repair. It is widely utilized as a hospital-prepared medication within the oncology and dermatology departments of its developing institution.
