Jiedu Yizhi Formula (JDYZF) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound prescription developed by Ren Jixue, based on the “marrow deficiency and toxin damage” theory. It is primarily used for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The formula consists of seven herbal ingredients and has been shown in preclinical studies to improve cognitive impairment in AD animal models. Mechanistically, JDYZF exerts neuroprotective effects by inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, reducing β-amyloid deposition, suppressing neuroinflammation via downregulation of NLRP3/Caspase-1/GSDMD and LPS/Caspase-11/GSDMD pyroptosis pathways, modulating gut microbiota composition, and regulating key signaling pathways such as MAPK and PI3K/AKT. It also reduces levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18 in the brain and gut[1][2][6][8]. No hepatotoxicity was observed in animal studies.
