Overview

Jieruimab (JAB-BX102) is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Jacobio Pharmaceuticals that targets CD73 (ecto-5'-nucleotidase). CD73 is a cell-surface enzyme that plays a pivotal role in the adenosine pathway by catalyzing the conversion of extracellular adenosine monophosphate (AMP) into adenosine. In the tumor microenvironment, high levels of adenosine act as a potent immunosuppressant, inhibiting the activity of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, thereby allowing tumors to evade the immune system. By binding to and inhibiting CD73, jieruimab reduces the production of adenosine, which helps to restore anti-tumor immune responses. Beyond oncology, jieruimab is being explored for its potential in treating autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, where the adenosine signaling pathway is a key regulatory component of joint inflammation.
