Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jieyuwan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula primarily indicated for the treatment of psychiatric and emotional disorders associated with Liver Qi Stagnation, including anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions. The formula is a complex mixture of botanical extracts, typically including *Bupleurum chinense*, *Cyperus rotundus*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, and *Curcuma aromatica*. It is widely used in China and has been the subject of clinical trials investigating its efficacy in epidemic-related anxiety and adjustment disorders. Jieyuwan is believed to work by regulating the flow of Qi and harmonizing the liver and spleen, which translates in modern pharmacological terms to the modulation of neurotransmitter levels and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. It is commonly manufactured as a pill for oral administration.
