Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JIFUWEI (吉芙惟) is a fulvestrant injection developed and marketed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Genetic Biopharmaceutical (formerly Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering). It is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) indicated for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Fulvestrant works by binding to the estrogen receptor with high affinity, competitively inhibiting the binding of estradiol. Unlike traditional anti-estrogens, fulvestrant also induces the degradation and downregulation of the estrogen receptor protein, thereby more effectively blocking estrogen-mediated signaling pathways that drive tumor growth. It is administered as a long-acting intramuscular injection.
