Jilifen (吉粒芬) is a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) developed and manufactured by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering. As a cytokine biologic, it functions as an agonist for the Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor (CSF3R), which is expressed on the surface of hematopoietic stem cells and myeloid progenitor cells. By binding to this receptor, Jilifen stimulates the proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation of neutrophil precursors in the bone marrow, leading to an increase in circulating neutrophil counts. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of neutropenia, particularly chemotherapy-induced neutropenia, to reduce the risk of infection. Approved in China in 1996, it was the first domestically developed rhG-CSF injection in the country, making China the third nation capable of mass-producing the drug.
