Jilixin

Jilixin (avatrombopag) is an oral, small-molecule thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist developed and manufactured by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering. It functions by binding to the transmembrane domain of the TPO receptor (MPL) on megakaryocytes and their progenitor cells, stimulating their proliferation and differentiation into platelets. This mechanism effectively increases platelet counts in patients with thrombocytopenia. Jilixin is approved in China for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) who are scheduled to undergo a medical or dental procedure, as well as for adult patients with chronic primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have shown an inadequate response to previous therapies. As an oral medication, it offers a non-invasive alternative to injectable TPO receptor agonists, improving patient convenience and compliance.
