Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jin Lian Hua is a botanical drug product derived from the dried flowers of *Trollius chinensis* Bunge, a plant widely utilized in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for its "heat-clearing" and "detoxifying" properties. It is approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China for the treatment of upper respiratory tract inflammatory diseases, including pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and acute bronchitis. The pharmacological activity of the extract is primarily attributed to its rich content of flavonoids, such as orientin, vitexin, and quercetin, as well as organic acids. These constituents exhibit anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral effects by modulating pro-inflammatory mediators and inhibiting the growth of common respiratory pathogens. The drug is commonly available in oral dosage forms such as capsules, tablets, and granules, and is manufactured by several prominent Chinese pharmaceutical companies, including Chengde Yushi Pharmaceutical.
