Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jin-Xin-Kang (JXK), also known as Kangxin formula granule, is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formula developed by Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). The formula consists of seven medicinal herbs: *Ginseng quinquefolium*, *Astragali Radix* (*Astragalus membranaceus*), *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Descurainiae Semen Lepidii Semen* (*Descurainia sophia*), *Leonuri Herba* (*Leonurus japonicus*), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (*Cinnamomum cassia*), and *Ilex pubescens*. JXK targets the Calcineurin (CaN)/Dynamin-Related Protein 1 (Drp1) signaling pathway to alleviate heart failure by mitigating mitochondrial dysfunction. Research published in 2024 indicates that JXK can inhibit the CaN/Drp1 pathway, thereby improving mitochondrial function and treating chronic heart failure. Its clinical efficacy has been evaluated in prospective randomized controlled studies, particularly in patients with Qi deficiency and blood stasis.
