Overview
Jingchuang Ointment is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical formulation specifically developed for the management of chronic, non-healing wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure sores, and vasculitic ulcers. Developed primarily by the Tianjin Medical University Metabolic Diseases Hospital, it is composed of several herbal components including *Sanguisorba officinalis* (Di Yu), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huang Bai), and *Borneolum Syntheticum* (Bing Pian). The therapeutic effect is attributed to its ability to modulate the wound microenvironment by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6), reducing the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), and promoting the expression of growth factors like VEGF and TGF-β. These actions collectively enhance angiogenesis, fibroblast proliferation, and collagen synthesis, facilitating the transition from the inflammatory phase to the proliferative phase of wound healing.
