Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jingfang Granules (JFG) is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription used primarily for treating skin diseases such as urticaria and influenza-like illnesses. It has demonstrated efficacy in improving glucose metabolism disturbances and inflammation in animal models of urticaria by modulating immune responses and inflammatory pathways. JFG acts by activating the LKB1/AMPK/SIRT1 signaling axis, which inhibits glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and the pentose phosphate pathway, thereby reducing inflammation. It also downregulates inflammatory cytokines (IgE, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-4, TNF-α, IL-17A) while increasing IFN-γ levels. Additionally, JFG has shown neuroprotective effects in intracerebral hemorrhage models by attenuating neuroinflammation and protecting the blood-brain barrier via activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Clinically, it is used to relieve symptoms of common cold due to wind-cold including headache, bodily pain, nasal obstruction with watery discharge, cough with white sputum; it induces diaphoresis to expel wind and clear dampness.
