Overview

Jinghuaweikang (JWC) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) patent drug, specifically a botanical formulation consisting of extracts from *Chenopodium ambrosioides* and *Adina pilulifera*. It is the first state-approved Chinese patent medicine for treating gastritis and peptic ulcers caused by *Helicobacter pylori* (H. pylori) infection. The drug exerts its therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms: it possesses direct antibacterial activity against H. pylori (including drug-resistant strains) by inhibiting biofilm formation, and it reduces gastric mucosal inflammation by inhibiting the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways. Additionally, JWC has been shown to modulate the intestinal microbiota. It is uniquely endorsed by Chinese clinical guidelines for the management of refractory H. pylori infections, typically as an adjunct to bismuth quadruple therapy.
