Overview

Jingyin Granules is a marketed traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed as an in-hospital preparation at Shanghai Shuguang Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a complex multi-herb mixture derived from the classical TCM formula Yinqiao Powder, composed of nine herbs including Herba Schizonpetae (Jing Jie), Flos Lonicerae (Jin Yin Hua), Herba Taraxaci (Pu Gong Ying), Indigowoad Leaf (Da Qing Ye), and Folium Ilicis Purpureae (Si Ji Qing). Clinically used for over 40 years, it is indicated for respiratory diseases such as acute bronchitis, acute pneumonia, H1N1 influenza A virus infection, and COVID-19. The formulation exhibits antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to inhibit various drug-metabolizing enzymes, including carboxylesterases and cytochrome P450 isoforms.
