Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jinhoujian is a topical spray formulation used primarily for the treatment of acute and chronic pharyngitis, oral ulcers, gum swelling and pain, throat swelling and pain, as well as to reduce postoperative complications such as nausea, vomiting, sore throat (POST), and oral mucositis after laryngeal procedures. It is described in clinical studies as having effects to dispel wind and detoxify, reduce swelling and relieve pain, clear the throat, soothe the throat, and alleviate symptoms associated with inflammation of the oropharynx. The mechanism of action appears to be anti-inflammatory and analgesic at local mucosal sites; however, specific molecular targets are not detailed in available sources. The product is widely used in China but does not have FDA approval or registration in other major regulatory jurisdictions[1][2][3][4][5].
