Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jinlida is a Chinese patent medicine (Traditional Chinese Medicine) developed by Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical for the treatment of metabolic disorders. It is a multi-component herbal formulation containing extracts such as danshensu sodium salt, puerarin, salvianolic acid B, epimedin B, epimedin C, icariin, and various ginsenosides (Rb1, Rc, Rb2). Jinlida is primarily indicated for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and has been approved in China for this use. Its therapeutic effects include improving glycemic control, reducing HbA1c, and ameliorating insulin resistance. Mechanistically, Jinlida has been shown to protect islet β-cells, reduce oxidative stress, and regulate lipid metabolism, potentially through the activation of the AMPK pathway and the modulation of p53, TNF, and TGFβ1 signaling. It is currently being evaluated in large-scale clinical trials for its ability to prevent the progression of impaired glucose tolerance to diabetes and for the management of metabolic syndrome and diabetic complications.
