Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jinshui Liujun Decoction is a traditional Chinese herbal formula used primarily for lung diseases such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and chronic bronchitis. It is composed of prepared Rehmannia root, Pinellia ternata rhizome, chenpi (tangerine peel), licorice, Poria cocos (hoelen), and milkvetch root. The decoction has pharmacological actions including blood-supplementing and yin-supplementing effects, as well as blood-nourishing, diuretic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulating properties[5][6]. In clinical studies for NSCLC patients undergoing conventional chemotherapy (pemetrexed + carboplatin), the addition of mindfulness-based stress reduction training with flavored Jinshui Liujun decoction improved immune function by increasing CD3+ and CD4+ T cells while reducing CD8+ T cells and improving the CD4+/CD8+ ratio. It also reduced negative emotions such as anxiety and depression in patients[1][6].
