Jipailin (吉派林) is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) sodium injection developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering (now Hangzhou Jiuyuan Genetic Biopharmaceutical). Approved by China's Ministry of Health in June 1998, it was the first domestically produced LMWH product in China. The drug is a biochemical anticoagulant derived from heparin and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of venous thromboembolic diseases, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Jipailin functions by binding to antithrombin III (ATIII), which induces a conformational change that significantly accelerates ATIII's ability to inactivate coagulation Factor Xa and, to a lesser extent, thrombin (Factor IIa), thereby inhibiting the coagulation cascade and preventing clot formation.
